How We Tested

Over the past three months, our team signed up for, deposited funds into, and actively traded on every major prediction market platform available in 2026. We evaluated each platform across eight criteria with weighted scoring.

This isn't a surface-level comparison. We actually used each platform, made real trades, and experienced the full user journey from onboarding to withdrawal.

Our Testing Methodology

Eight Rating Criteria

  • Market Variety (20%): How many categories and individual markets does the platform offer? We counted available markets, tracked new market creation, and assessed the diversity of event categories.

  • Fees & Pricing (15%): We analyzed trading fees, withdrawal fees, spreads, and any hidden costs. We made identical trades on each platform to directly compare execution costs.

  • User Experience (15%): How easy is it to sign up, navigate, and place trades? We timed the onboarding process, evaluated the interface design, and tested the learning curve for new users.

  • Liquidity (15%): We measured order book depth, typical spreads, and execution speed. High liquidity means you can enter and exit positions without significant price impact.

  • Security (10%): We evaluated regulatory status, security certifications, history of hacks or incidents, and fund custody practices.

  • Mobile App (10%): Quality of the mobile experience — native app availability, feature parity with desktop, and usability on smaller screens.

  • Payment Options (10%): We tested all deposit and withdrawal methods, noting processing times, fees, and supported currencies/cryptocurrencies.

  • Customer Support (5%): We submitted support tickets to each platform and measured response times, quality of answers, and available support channels.

The Results

1. Polymarket — 4.5/5 (Editor's Choice)

Polymarket dominates the prediction market space with the highest liquidity, most diverse markets, and zero trading fees. Built on Polygon, it offers near-instant transactions with minimal gas costs.

Why it's #1: No other platform comes close in terms of market variety and liquidity. The $3B+ trading volume during the 2024 election cycle proved its scalability.

The catch: It's not available to US users, and crypto-only deposits create a barrier for traditional finance users.

2. Kalshi — 4.3/5 (Best for US)

Kalshi is the gold standard for regulated prediction markets. CFTC oversight means your funds are protected, and fiat deposits make it accessible to everyone.

Why it's #2: Regulatory compliance and fiat access are huge advantages. The user experience is polished and professional.

The catch: Fewer markets than Polymarket, and geographic restrictions limit it to US users.

3. Drift Protocol — 4.0/5

Drift brings prediction markets to the Solana DeFi ecosystem. Ultra-low fees and integration with other DeFi protocols make it attractive for crypto-native users.

Why it ranks high: Solana's speed and low costs create an excellent trading experience. Integration with the broader Solana DeFi ecosystem adds utility.

The catch: Limited to crypto markets and requires Solana wallet knowledge.

Azuro has carved out a strong niche in decentralized sports prediction markets. If sports are your focus, Azuro offers the best selection and experience.

Why it ranks well: Deep sports market coverage, decentralized architecture, and competitive fees.

The catch: Sports-only focus limits its appeal for those interested in politics or crypto markets.
